First-half
Within the first 30 seconds of the match, Coventry's Kyle McFadzean was adjudged to have fouled Dawson Devoy in the box and the referee awarded MK Dons a penalty. Up stepped Jonathan Leko who converted the spot-kick to make it 1-0.
However, this would prove to be the only time MK Dons would cause Coventry problems as the Skyblues began the hunt for an equaliser. Gustavo Hamer and Kyle McFadzean were both denied by Craig MacGillivray, before Josh Eccles, Ellis Simms and Ben Sheaf were all also denied by the keeper.
Eventually, the Skyblues found their equaliser as Gustavo Hamer's through-ball was converted by Ellis Simms for his third goal of pre-season so far, making it 1-1.
Within one minute, Jake Bidwell's cross was turned in by Ellis Simms for his and Coventry's second of the evening.

second half
The Skyblues opted against a half-time substitution but Matt Godden almost made it three when his header struck the woodwork with the goalkeeper beaten.
Mid-way through the half, Coventry made four changes, which saw Liam Kelly, Justin Obikwu, Ryan Howley and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto replace Gustavo Hamer, Matt Godden, Bobby Thomas and Ben Sheaf.
Within minutes, Josh Eccles made it 3-1 when he fired home from the edge of the penalty area.
Justin Obikwu went close shortly after, before turning provider after he set-up Kasey Palmer who drilled an effort past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1 for his third goal in three games.
However, in the dying moments the Skyblues made it five after some outstanding play by Tatsuhiro Sakamoto saw his cross half-cleared by MK Dons, before U21s forward Bradley Stretton struck an excellent effort past the keeper to confirm the win.
