Coventry City defender Jack Burroughs has signed a new two-year contract with the club, keeping him at the CBS Arena until June 2025.
The 22-year-old is a product of the Skyblues academy, but the 2022/23 season was his first real break into becoming a first-team player for the club. He made 14 appearances in all competitions last season, including 12 league appearances. This includes a man of the match worthy performance against Watford in an EFL Championship clash last year.
He has also enjoyed three separate loan spells away from the club, as he aimed to earn match experience and grab his first taste of first-team football. These spells were with Nuneaton, Gloucester City and Ross County respectfully.
Upon signing a new contract, Burroughs told the club website, "It was a no-brainer. It’s been a successful season for me and for the group this season. To get the recognition for all the hard work I’ve put in this season, of course, I couldn’t say no to committing for another two seasons.
“It means the world to me. I’ve been a Cov fan since I was born. All my family are Cov fans and my friends as well, so it means the world to me and puts a big smile on my face.”
Congratulations on the new deal Jack!
