Wilson Suffers Injury

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has confirmed that goalkeeper Ben Wilson missed Tuesday's clash with MK Dons, due to suffering a back injury but the gaffer is hopeful that he will be back ahead of Saturday's trip to Exeter.

The goalkeeper is believed to have picked up an injury in training, ahead of the match and was left out of the squad completely, allowing U21s goalkeeper Cian Tyler to step-up.

What's happened?

According to Robins, Ben Wilson has been suffering with various back spasms and was therefore deliberately left out of the trip to League Two side MK Dons on Tuesday.

As such, the goalkeeper has been allowed time to recover from the setback, as the Skyblues travel to League One side Exeter City on Saturday in their final pre-season friendly.

Our View

Ben Wilson is likely to compete with Brad Collins for the number one shirt next season, but the injury could give Collins the go-ahead to stay as first choice for the M69 derby.

Wilson has been key for the Skyblues last season, picking up 22 clean sheets last season, winning the golden glove award for the EFL Championship but we believe Wilson will be number two next season.
