Coventry City U21's midfielder Ryan Howley has penned a new contract with the EFL Championship side, fresh off the back of a strong 2022/23 campaign, which saw him make several first-team appearances last season.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Skyblues academy and has made a total of seven first-team appearances so far in his young career. He made his Championship debut, during the 2021/22 season, coming on as a late substitute against Nottingham Forest in April 2022, but was on the losing side of the match.
However, during the 2022/23 season, Howley had a brighter campaign, making five further appearances in the EFL Championship, more than doubling the campaign before. His impressive performances earned a lot of positive reviews and feedback from the clubs supporters on social media.
The Skyblues U21's midfielder has successfully signed a new two year deal with the club, keeping him locked at the CBS Arena until June 2025, with no comment on whether there is a one-year option in the players contract or not.
Speaking to the clubs website, Howley stated...
"It's really good. The way we have been performing this season, to be offered a new deal is a really good feeling.
"It's not been an easy journey for me. This is my 15th season, so it's taken a long while but I hope this journey carries on.
"This off-season is giving me some time to reflect and to have played seven times not for the senior team is brilliant for me."
Congratulations Ryan!
